Latest: Shooter opens fire at Washington Navy Yard
At 9:25 a.m.: Emergency workers are responding to an active shooter at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., where at least one person has been confirmed injured, according to a release from the U.S. Navy. A tweet from the local D.C. firefighters association stated that there are "multiple victims." Read more.


Eagles fall to Chargers on last-minute 46-yard field goal
The Eagles blew a late lead thanks to an unnecessary roughness penalty and the San Diego Chargers cashed in for a 33-30 victory Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. Michael Vick threw for a career-high 428 yards and two touchdowns. His previous career best was 416 passing yards two years ago against the San Francisco 49ers. Read more.




Archdiocese of Philadelphia to continue parish sustainability study
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced Sunday that it will continue studying the viability of dozens of parishes in the five-county region, including 13 in Delaware County.

The Parish Area Pastoral Planning Initiative began in 2010 with all 266 parishes in the archdiocese conducting self-studies to determine whether they could sustain themselves in the future. Since the program began, the number of parishes has been reduced to 236. Read more.


Consultant gives insight into Radnor's stormwater problem
When torrential rains come, some residents in Radnor Township find their cars swamped, streets and homes flooded and property destroyed.

In the hope of getting a funding source dedicated to making infrastructure improvements to prevent the all too frequent floods, the Board of Commissions is considering imposing stormwater fees on residents, businesses and nonprofits. Read more.
