Bryn Mawr College faculty opens research to public

The repository of work created by Bryn Mawr College faculty is now open for access.

Standing by the colleges commitment to share its legacy of scholarship and research, the faculty of Bryn Mawr College approved an open access policy Dec. 11 that will allow their scholarly articles to be made available to the public for free.

Under the new policy, “faculty members grant to Bryn Mawr the nonexclusive right to disseminate their articles through the College open access repository, Scholarship, Research, and Creative Work at Bryn Mawr College, which was established in 2012,” reads a statement posted to the college’s website.

Upon its date of publication, each faculty member will provide a digital copy of their final version of each article at no charge to the Office of the Provost. Next, the Office of the Provost will make the article available in a repository that is open to the public at repository.brynmawr.edu.

Bryn Mawr College joins over 40 other colleges and universities, including Harvard, Duke and Princeton, that have passed similar policies since 2008.

Over 500 articles are available in the college’s repository.
