UM police searching for suspect in King of Prussia hit and run 

Upper Merion police are searching for a driver who allegedly struck stuck a vehicle in King of Prussia last week.
"...the driver of the second vehicle pulled out at a high rate of speed and the victim became entangled in the pick-up truck,” Upper Merion Chief of Police Thomas Nolan said. Read more.

Tonight: Villanova U. officials to present revised zoning plan
When Villanova University brought its zoning proposal before Radnor's Planning Commission in May, the plan was denied.  Since then, university administrators have met with residents who worry about, among other things, increased traffic and stormwater runoff.  Tonight, residents will hear a revised plan . Fire rips through Gladwyne home

Gladwyne Fire Company was dispatched around 3:28 p.m. Lower Merion's Chief Fire Officer Chas McGarvey said the fire was first reported by residents on the Philadelphia side of the Schuylkill River who saw a fire on the porch of the home. Read more.

Lower Merion's Arnold Field hosts rare night game Since Arnold Field doesn't have lights, night games are a rarity at Lower Merion High School. This past Friday, however, the school hosted Penncrest in only the second night game at the school in over 50 years. Read more at our new Pennsylvania high school sports website GameTimePa.com.

The Main Line know - Sept. 16, 2013 - Shooter opens fire at navy yard; Consultant details Radnor's stormwater issue

Latest: Shooter opens fire at Washington Navy Yard
At 9:25 a.m.: Emergency workers are responding to an active shooter at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., where at least one person has been confirmed injured, according to a release from the U.S. Navy. A tweet from the local D.C. firefighters association stated that there are "multiple victims." Read more.


Eagles fall to Chargers on last-minute 46-yard field goal
The Eagles blew a late lead thanks to an unnecessary roughness penalty and the San Diego Chargers cashed in for a 33-30 victory Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field. Michael Vick threw for a career-high 428 yards and two touchdowns. His previous career best was 416 passing yards two years ago against the San Francisco 49ers. Read more.




Archdiocese of Philadelphia to continue parish sustainability study
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced Sunday that it will continue studying the viability of dozens of parishes in the five-county region, including 13 in Delaware County.

The Parish Area Pastoral Planning Initiative began in 2010 with all 266 parishes in the archdiocese conducting self-studies to determine whether they could sustain themselves in the future. Since the program began, the number of parishes has been reduced to 236. Read more.


Consultant gives insight into Radnor's stormwater problem
When torrential rains come, some residents in Radnor Township find their cars swamped, streets and homes flooded and property destroyed.

In the hope of getting a funding source dedicated to making infrastructure improvements to prevent the all too frequent floods, the Board of Commissions is considering imposing stormwater fees on residents, businesses and nonprofits. Read more.

Judge orders end to Montco same-sex marriage licenses
Montgomery County officials ceased issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples on Thursday after a Pennsylvania judge said the county Register of Wills didn’t have the legal authority to issue such licenses. Read more.

Police searching for suspect in Ardmore 7-Eleven robbery
Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery at a Haverford convenience store. A store clerk reported to police that he was robbed by a while male who implied he was armed with a gun and demanded money from the cash register, according to police. Read more.
